Are you thinking or creating your own Greeting Card Collection? The Greetings card industry has exploded over lockdown with more people wanting that person touch when getting in contact with loved ones and friends. Whether you’re a creative pro, or just starting out – there are a few things you should think about before you begin.
Get Inspiration
Head over to social media, look in shops at their displays to see what is out there, try to be different so you don't get lost in similar designs or styles. Make sure you have a plan in place before starting this could be by creating a mood boards, or even sharing your initial designs to your Instagram or Facebook feed for feedback.
It’s also important to think about which paper stocks or special finishes you may want to use, as this could help inform your design process. You might want to go for recycled stock and go for an eco friendly option or high end finished like foiling or spot uv varnish. If you’re struggling to choose, make use of our free Sample Packs to get a better feel for the papers on offer.
Consider the Occasion
What occasion will your cards be for? It is for birthdays and other simple sentiments such as thank you, Christmas, anniversary and congratulatory cards.
Creating something that’s not easily found in a shop will help set you apart from the competition, so take your time when considering which types of card to include in your range. We recommend starting with a smaller range of 8-10 designs, and then gradually add to this throughout the year.
Get your Greeting Cards printed
Once you have your designed finalised the next step is ensuring they are print ready. Make sure you have a 3mm bleed around the artwork and keep any important text or imagery away from the edges. You could create something extra special with finishes like Laser Cutting, White Ink, Spot UV, Foiling and Die Cutting. Creating designs with the wow factor is easy with us.
Marketing
Whether you are selling in a shop, online or at market stalls, make sure you promote them online. Social media is key to getting those all-important sales. Promoting them in groups, on your own page and getting customers to share testimonials of how much they love your range is a great way to get your name out there and it is free!
